Picture This
Album Summary
Picture This is the debut studio album from Chicago rap trio Do Or Die, dropped in 1996 on Loud Records — a moment in time when the Midwest was fixing to let the whole country know it had something serious to say. Produced largely by the legendary DJ U-Neek, who brought that smooth, melodic Chicago street sensibility to every groove, the album captured a sound that felt different from anything coming out of either coast. This was Chi-Town talking, raw and real, and the record came out at a pivotal point when regional voices were starting to crack the national conversation wide open.

Artist Details
Do Or Die is a rap trio out of Chicago, Illinois, consisting of Nard, AK, and Belo Zero, who came together in the mid-1990s and put the city's Southside on the map with their smooth, melodic brand of hip-hop that blended gangsta rap with silky R&B-influenced flows. Their 1996 debut album Picture This, featuring the breakout hit Po Pimp produced by Twista and The Legendary Traxster, gave the world a taste of that Chi-Town street poetry wrapped in a velvet sound that was unlike anything else coming out of that era. They stand as pioneers of the Chicago rap scene, laying down the foundation for the melodic, hook-driven style that would later influence generations of artists to come out of that city.
